Ex- British Broadcasting Corporation advisers speaking in front of parliamentary committee

We start with questions from Tory Member of Parliament Caroline Dinenage, that chairs the committee.

She initiates by offering context to the disclosed memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and released in a national newspaper.

"I do not desire the BBC slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and just," he says.

When asked whether he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is systematically partial, he responds: "No, I do not. To be clear, numerous aspects the British Broadcasting Corporation does is exceptional - including factual and non-factual content."

Nevertheless, he states: "There remains real work that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she takes the BBC extremely earnestly and that it operates a "continuous process and lively discussion" across dynamic and complex topics.

"Was the BBC ready to engage in a thorough dialogue and exchange and act accordingly?" she reflects. "In my view, yes they were."
