Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a team has secured back-to-back championships.

Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Turnout

Local celebrations featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.

Social media videos show thousands of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube driving a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Celebrations began well before the parade, with supporters lighting flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.

The World Series MVP, awarded the MVP of the championship, commented directly about the win.

“Losing is not an option,” Yamamoto said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

However, the team owner received a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the event appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his address.

The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a challenging year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year showed as much if not more enthusiasm.

“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
