Netflix Casts Spot-On Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the major clash isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Mr. 2. The role has the ability to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that figure reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action series, as in the original manga and cartoon version.

Escola will work alongside a number of fresh additions set to bring the group to life, such as chief Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the ruler of the fictional land.

Though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.

Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

The platform’s adapted One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
