New Details Surface Concerning the Finding of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

New information has come to light about the tragic demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the residence. The therapist then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

Upon entering the home, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is now detained without bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family questioned several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.

Additionally pushed back against widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's conduct in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes descriptions of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were not correct.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
